Making the voice heard to policymakers..

The community voice and recommendations for the proposed policy for land purchase for residential sites was presented to Government of Karnataka. Seemandhra Health Dept evinced interest on Arogyashreni
Arogyashreni is one of the key projects of GRAAM focused on strengthening community monitoring at Primary Health Centres in the rural areas of Mysore using technology. The Digital Empowerment Foundation and UNICEF had organized a consultation on ‘Mobiles for Social and Behavioural Change’ on 17th and 18th December in Hyderabad. The objective of the consultation was to present various models implemented for social change across India leveraging mobile phone technology. Basavaraju R, Executive Director of GRAAM, presented Arogyashreni model explaining how the project implemented in Mysore district for three years resulted in strengthening community monitoring.
The presentation was successful in eliciting the interest of participants particularly the National Health Mission of Andhrapradesh Government. Mr. Vasudeva Rao, the State Project Manager of the mission stated in his presentation that the Government is keen to consider Arogyashreni for piloting in the state.
